Bob is responsible for carrying out valuation and surveying work on residential property, including investment and development property, owner occupied property, ranging from country Listed properties to new build high end London apartments. Valuation work is primarily undertaken for secured lending purposes and survey work is primarily undertaken for acquisition purposes.

Bob has been a Chartered Surveyor since 1997 and joined Aitchison Raffety in 1999.

David West

Area Director - Manchester

David is the Area Director for Manchester and northwest at Aitchison Raffety. David has been a qualified Chartered Surveyor for over 22 years and has extensive experience with a range of commercial practices in the northwest, Yorkshire and the Midlands.

David advises on a broad spectrum of commercial, residential and development assets throughout the north of England.

Valuations are predominantly for secured lending purposes, although also for solicitors, financial organisations and private clients.

David joined Aitchison Raffety from Manchester based firm, WT Gunson Chartered Surveyors, where he headed up their Valuation department for 5 years.

Emma Woolven

Area Director - South

Emma joined Aitchison Raffety as Area Director – South in October 2023.

Emma has extensive experience and local knowledge of London and south regions, having worked on one of the market leading retail valuation teams at JLL. 

With over 10 years of Valuation experience, Emma will play a key role in the next chapter of the recently expanded team here at Aitchison Raffety.  

 

Gavin Keats

Gavin joined Aitchison Raffety’s Valuation team in October 2021. He is experienced in a broad spectrum of commercial, residential and development assets throughout London, the South East and East Anglia areas.

With over 18 years’ post-qualification experience, Gavin has undertaken and overseen valuation advice for loan security, accounting, acquisition, asset management and disposal purposes. He has a proven track record in growing and sustaining relationships with private and public sector clients including developers, local authorities and all the national banks.

Hayley Anderson

Senior Surveyor

Hayley is a Senior Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer covering the North East and Yorkshire regions at Aitchison Raffety. Hayley brings a range of experience, with her most recent role being in Public Sector valuation following qualification as a Chartered Surveyor in 2021. Hayley joined Aitchison Raffety having worked at the Valuation Office Agency, advising Public Sector clients, with a focus on Red Book valuations, financial reporting valuations and development viability/appraisals.

Hayley advises on a broad spectrum of commercial, residential and development assets throughout the North of England. Valuations are undertaken primarily for secured lending purposes predominantly, although Hayley also advises private clients, solicitors, financial organisations, and developers.

Hayley was also shortlisted as a finalist for RICS Matrics Surveyor of the Year Awards 2023 in the Valuation Surveyor of the Year category.

Irfan Arif

Senior Surveyor

Irfan is a Senior Surveyor working out of our Manchester office covering the North West region and brings a broad range of experience spanning both Public & Private sectors. Irfan qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer in 2014 and worked for a Manchester based commercial firm before joining a national panel firm undertaking residential valuations and home buyer surveys.

Irfan advises on a wide spectrum of commercial and residential assets including HMO’s and investments throughout the region. Whilst valuations are undertaken primarily for secured lending purposes Irfan also advises private clients.

Qualifications: MSc (Hons) MRICS, Registered Valuer.

Jamie Simpson

Area Director - Midlands

Jamie joined Aitchison Raffety’s Valuation team in May 2021. He has over 15 years’  valuation experience having developed specialisms in the areas of secured lending and CPO valuation.

Based at our Birmingham office, Jamie will cover the Midlands region.

Jamie’s experience includes valuing residential, commercial and development property whether the property is vacant, owner occupier or held as an investment. The valuations have been for a range of purposes, including, loan security on behalf of high street banks, inclusion in financial statements and accounts on behalf of investment funds, corporate recovery on behalf of insolvency practitioners.

Jamie re-joins Aitchison Raffety after a three and a half year period with Carter Jonas.

Jason Rawlings

Director

As an Associate Director of Aitchison Raffety, Jason prepares surveys and other reports on residential property including party wall awards and carries out appraisal work for solicitors, banks and financial organisations including central London, valuing property up to £40million.

Jason has been in practice since 1988 and originally trained with a West End architectural practice (ATP Group), subsequently continuing his training as a Surveyor with northwest London firm Higgins & Co reaching Director status. He developed skills in organising and overseeing refurbishment and new build schemes for a number of Housing Associations. Jason joined Aitchison Raffety in 1999 based at the company’s Hertfordshire office and primarily worked in the residential sector undertaking valuations, surveys and construction monitoring. His valuation experience extends from Watford and surrounding Home Counties, into north, northwest, west and central London.

Laura Macqueen

Senior Associate Director

Laura is an Associate Director Surveyor at Aitchison Raffety, preparing residential valuations for solicitors, banks and financial organisations.  Laura covers a wide area that includes Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Essex and London. Laura specialises in equestrian property, prime country housing, houses with land or a commercial element and residential development sites.  She joined Aitchison Raffety in 2007, following five years at Montagu Evans.

Outside of work Laura is a keen equestrian, owning her own horse and two ponies.  She also hosts numerous charity events for Jessica’s Arc, which raises money for Alice’s Arc Children’s Cancer Charity, in memory of her daughter Jess.

Martin Powell

Business Development Director

As Operation Director in Valuation, Martin oversees all operational aspects of the Valuation Division Strategy, ensuring the Division is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines.

Martin oversees the Divisions Operations performance, investments and other business ventures with innovation to support business growth with constant change.

Martin has over 20 years’ experience in Senior leadership roles becoming the youngest Bank Manager at Lloyds where he spent eight years prior to joining Aitchison Raffety as a Director in 2019 as Valuation Business Director.

 

Max Buckland

Senior Graduate Surveyor

Max Buckland joined Aitchison Raffety in February 2023 after graduating from the University of Reading studying BSc Real Estate.

Max is currently working towards his APC qualification gaining experience in the secured lending valuations for both commercial and residential property, lease advisory and commercial agency teams. Max has shown excellent autonomy and organisation since joining.

Michelle Campbell

Head of Valuation

Michelle joined Aitchison Raffety in 2024 as Head of Valuation, with over 15 years’ experience in the real estate valuation industry as a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer.

Michelle’s previous experience has covered the valuation of commercial and residential assets for loan security and regulated purpose instructions across the UK and EMEA, as well as high value portfolio mandates for institutional funds. Michelle also held the role of Head of Valuation Compliance at a global property consultancy, ensuring compliance with RICS and IVSC standards.

Leading the valuation team, Michelle is focussed on providing excellent client care through high quality advice and up-to-date market intelligence.

Nicole Tucker

Senior Surveyor

Nicole joined Aitchison Raffety in 2002 and is a surveyor within the valuation team, responsible for undertaking valuations on commercial properties and specialising in GP surgeries.

Recognised for her knowledge of healthcare property and extensive experience in the industry, Nicole undertakes a range of valuations for a variety of purposes including secured lending, partnership, portfolio and court purposes for a range of clients from individual property owners and investors, to large portfolio holders.

Ophelia Avent

Associate Director

Ophelia is a Senior Surveyor working out of the Bristol area who joined our valuation team in January 2023.

Previously, Ophelia worked for the public sector where she undertook a range of valuations for public sector clients. She earned her qualifications and became a Chartered Surveyor Member and RICS Registered Valuer in 2021.

Ophelia now specialises in a range of properties which include residential, HMOs, commercial, and developments, whilst serving clients in Bristol and other locations within the South West, primarily for secured lending and private clients.

Paula Mace

Director, Head of Healthcare

Paula is a Director and Head of Healthcare here at Aitchison Raffety, one of the country’s leading experts on primary care centres and medical premises. Based out of the St Albans and London offices, she is responsible for the  healthcare team and services nationally.

Her role at Aitchison Raffety further encompasses strategic business planning, business development, risk management and quality control.

Paula joined the company in 2003 and has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare sector having worked with many medical centres, surgeries, healthcare investors and funds across the country during this time.

Paula is recognised for her knowledge of healthcare property and extensive experience in the healthcare industry and provides a range of services, specialising in valuations for a variety of purposes including secured lending, partnership, accounts, portfolio, and court purposes for a range of clients from individual property owners and investors, to large portfolio investors with a considerable number of medical centres located nationwide. These services also include sale and leaseback, disposal and acquisition, and development work.

Paula is also involved in a variety of Landlord and Tenant work, acting in relation to rent reviews and lease renewal negotiations, dispute resolution, CMR appeals, as well as pharmacy, dental, and other types of clinic/medical rent reviews and lease renewals. She has significant experience as an Expert Witness in relation to rent review and lease renewal disputes including the PACT process.

As well as being a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Paula also qualified as an Independent Expert in 2017 and is a member of the RICS panel of Independent Experts.

Paula’s experience has given her unrivalled knowledge of the healthcare sector and best practices in the industry. She has developed an extensive network of established contacts and relationships which aid her in offering the most refined and bespoke service possible to clients.

Rod Greenland

Director

Rod has over 25 years experience in the property industry as a Chartered Surveyor primarily working in valuations and is MRICS qualified and a RICS Registered Valuer.  He has more than 10 years experience working in London across several roles undertaking a range of specialisms including trading properties, commercial, development and residential property.  He also has a good understanding of the banking sector having previously worked for a major bank in their business banking team.

Joining Aitchison Raffety in 2024 and based in our London office, his focus is on providing valuation and specialist advice on commercial property across London and surrounds for a wide range of corporate and private clients.  Rod prides himself on his professionalism and ability to provide timely advice and a favourable client experience.

Russell Lane

Selorm Klu-Holloway

Associate Director

Selorm is a Senior Surveyor who joined the Valuation Team at Aitchison Raffety in September 2023. He has experience in valuing a wide range of asset classes including care homes and mainstream commercial properties (office, industrial and retail) mainly for secured lending and financial reporting purposes.

Having originally studied architecture at university, Selorm has spent over 20 years in the building or property industry overall. He is currently based in the Bristol area but covers the Midlands and beyond for his valuation work.

Sian Edwards

Siân is an Associate Director Surveyor at Aitchison Raffety, preparing residential surveys and valuations for solicitors, banks and financial organisations in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, and Surrey. Siân also specialises in Leasehold Reform work including lease extensions and collective enfranchisements acting for both leaseholders and freeholders.

Simon Stanley

Stephen Ore

Senior Associate Director

As a Senior Associate Director of Aitchison Raffety, Stephen prepares valuation reports on a range of commercial properties including retail, office and industrial, predominantly for secured lending purposes, although also for solicitors and financial organisations.  Stephen predominantly covers the M25, M40 and M4 corridor ranging from substantial bespoke warehouse units to the corner shop.

Stephen has been in practice for over 40 years’ operating in the South Herts, Buckinghamshire and Middlesex areas.  Originally trained in building surveying, Stephen has an extensive skill set.  He had developed good connections with a range of bank customers and property investors, completing valuations on Listed buildings through to brand new residential and commercial schemes.

Stephen joined Aitchison Raffety in 2007, originally working out of the High Wycombe office, although more recently based in South Hertfordshire.  The primary workload includes preparing valuations on commercial buildings and both residential and commercial development schemes, together with specialist dentist practice goodwill appraisals.

Tom Beckett

Tom joined our Valuation team in July 2023 and has four years’ experience in General Practice within the public sector and Investment Property Management in the private sector working on some of London’s most prestigious estates. Tom advises on a broad spectrum of commercial, residential and development assets throughout London and the south. Valuations are undertaken primarily for secured lending purposes predominantly, although Tom also advises private clients, solicitors, financial organisations, and developers. Tom was also shortlisted as a finalist for RICS Young Commercial Property Surveyor of the year award.

Tom Littler

Senior Associate Director

Tom is part of the Valuation team at Aitchison Raffety and is responsible for undertaking a wide range of valuations for both secured lending and accounts purposes. He provides ‘Red Book’ valuations to an extensive range of lenders covering all principal commercial property types and the appraisal of sites being redeveloped for both commercial and residential purposes. He has extensive experience of bespoke valuation packages and assists in providing training to graduates enrolled in the Assessment of Professional Competence.

Tom has been a qualified Chartered Surveyor for 25 years and has extensive experience with a range of commercial practices. He has worked both in the Home Counties and for over 10 years in central London. He has concentrated on valuation work for most of his career with Countrywide Commercial, DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield) and for the past five years Aitchison Raffety. At DTZ, Tom worked closely with major pension funds including Legal & General and Aviva as well as undertaking high value and complex valuation appraisals for many of the major UK banks. Since joining Aitchison Raffety, he has focused on secured lending work and undertakes valuations of properties for a range of the major banks and private clients, with a value between £500,000 and £30 million.
